What gets published
- Sources, always named
- Every piece names what it rests on and links to it, so any statement can be checked against its origin. Primary material — the document, the paper, the announcement itself — is preferred to someone else's account of it.
- Retold, not reprinted
- News is summarized in our own words and links back to the original. Wording is not copied; only names and terms coincide.
- Figures as the source gives them
- Numbers from a source are quoted as stated — not rounded, not altered, not filled in. Where a source says “more than 100”, so do we. When a piece calculates from them, such as converting °F to °C or working out a cost per million Btu, the inputs and the method are shown next to the result.
- Nothing invented
- No made-up figures, quotations, forecasts or placeholder entries. Quotations appear only where the source carries them and names who said them. Where a number does not exist, no number is shown.
- 48 hours
- A news item is eligible only if its original was published within the last 48 hours, dated from the source's own feed or page in UTC. A source with no verifiable date is not used, and the window does not stretch to fill a section.
- Blocked sources
- Some publishers refuse automated requests. That is their decision and we do not work around it: such a source is read in a browser or not used at all.
- Corrections
- Errors are corrected on the page, and the date of the last substantive revision is shown on it. Report one to editor@homeclimatejournals.info.
Images
Images are either existing work reused under its license — public-domain material, Creative Commons figures from the research being reported, freely licensed files — or supplied by the publisher. Author, license and a link to the source file appear under every licensed image, and a cropped file says so. Pictures made with generative tools are labeled Illustration and marked as such in the file itself; they are never presented as photographs of real people or events. Where nothing suitable exists, a piece runs without a picture rather than with a decorative one.
Money
The site carries no advertising and no paid placements. Coverage cannot be bought.
